The Indian cinema has the long and old time history like an epic has. It has gone through several transformations and accordingly many artists also made their remarkable history in the earlier evolution of Indian cinema. We will read about some of them unforgettable persons who devoted their complete life for the Indian cinema and in this category the one and first name which comes is Durga Khote (January 14 1905 to Sep.12, 1991) was among those amazing Indian actress who played their incomparable part of their role in the Indian cinema. Durga Khote played as a lead actress for more than 200 films including Hindi and Marathi.
Her early performance was starred in theater shows but soon at the age of 17 she started her career in the Indian cinema. In the year 2000 as a millennium edition a leading magazine known as India today included Durga khote as the Pioneer lady for the Indian Cinema. Durga khote has been remembered for her incredible roles of mother such as she played the mother role for Dilip Kumar in Mughal-E-Azam which had the biggest hit on the box office of that era.

Durg khote was so much perfect in her acting career that in the 1983 she was awarded the most important Indian cinema award ‘Dada Saheb Phalke Award’ for her incredible contribution to the Indian Cinema.

Durga Khote had lots of struggle in her early life. She was born in Mumbai in a Brahmin family and at the age of 26 she became widow, having 2 sons. Her financial stability was not good at that time hence she had to seek for the work of any type in the cinema world and due to her sheer work she acquired a great place in whole Indian Cinema. By looking on the early life of Durga Khote anyone can get an amazing inspiration.

Durga khote had played many characters in the Indian Cinema world. She played as an actress, as a director and as a producer also. In other words she was having a complete quality needed to be perfect in a specific field.

Today her grandson Ravi khote has been a great film maker and another grandson Deven khote is also a great Television producer. We all remember Durga khote as a milestone of Indian Cinema.
