Durga khote has been remembered for her incredible roles of mother such as she played the mother role for Dilip Kumar in Mughal-E-Azam which had the biggest hit on the box office of that era.

Durg khote was so much perfect in her acting career that in the 1983 she was awarded the most important Indian cinema award ‘Dada Saheb Phalke Award’ for her incredible contribution to the Indian Cinema.

Durga Khote had lots of struggle in her early life. She was born in Mumbai in a Brahmin family and at the age of 26 she became widow, having 2 sons.
